Racing

1981 began Lauren’s racing career in Sports Car Club of America (SCCA), competing in Solo I & II. Winning multiple races, a regional title and season ending points champ for 4 years straight.

By 1989, Lauren evolved into a road racer and started winning in her historic 1966 Trans-Am Mustang. She competed in SVRA, HSR, VARAC, and VSCCA. Again winning most every race in her classification, as well as a 2nd in overall year-end standings in the historic endurance series. Never content with where she is, Lauren moved into Roush Racing Chassis #009, a 1989 IMSA / Trans-Am Mustang.

For 2000, Lauren competed in SVRA/HSR sanctioned historic races, and the Canadian G.T. Challenge Cup sanctioned by ASN/FIA. 2001 Lauren continued to lead her class in Group in SVRA and HSR. In 2002, Lauren was the first woman to take a pole position for a feature race in Vintage Trans Am. In 2005, Lauren will continue to campaign her Roush Trans-Am Mustang in SVRA and HSR she took the pole at Watkins Glen and won the race pole to pole. For 2006, Lauren will drive a new Pratt & Miller Mustang in HSR and SVRA and has so far had a podium finish.

Lauren operated the Driving Ambitions Performance Driving School at Watkins Glen from 1986-2001.

Business Career:
In addition to her professional driving career, Lauren is best known as The Car Coach®, she is also frequently called upon as a expert by TV, radio, major auto manufacturers, and various automotive publications. She has been on Oprah, TODAY show, The View, The Early Show, CNN, MSNBC, FOX News, NBC, ABC, CBS, Fox, WB, UPN, The Weather Channel, ESPN, Discovery, Speed and National Public Radio. Lauren has authored Driving Ambitions: A Complete Guide to Amateur Auto Racing and The Performance Tire and Wheel Handbook, and has written articles for Motor Trend, Truck Trend, Hot Rod, Car Craft, Woman’s World and Self Magazine.

Lauren Fix is the co-host of Talk 2 DIY-Automotive, on the Do-It-Yourself Network (DIY). Lauren’s new syndicated segments called: The Car Coach® car care tips and His Turn–Her Turn™, car reviews with a male and female perspective with Paul Fix, will air in 2005. She is also finishing another book entitled “Essential Girls Guide To Car Smarts”.

Personal:
Lauren Fix enjoys the support of her husband and two children, Shelby and Paul III (who both go kart race). Lauren also enjoys fitness training and gourmet cooking.
