Sarah Playfair ended up with Motorsport News
"Drive of the Day" at her local circuit, Knockhill,
on 15/16 May 2004 - she "drove with passion and
fought hard in the Scottish Formula Ford Zetec
encounter" and claimed fourth place in her Mygale
SJ01. Sarah drove the Taylor Motorsport machine
into tenth place overall in the second of the
Knockhill UK Formula Ford Championship rounds
too.
Sarah Moves Up (4/23-24/05)
The UK Formula Ford Championship, moved on from
Donnington in early April, to Oulton Park for the
weekend of April 23rd/24th. For Sarah Playfair this
was a chance to improve on her two third places in
the Scholarship class, with a view to taking that
top step and staying there. Prior to Oulton, Sarah
returned to her local circuit of Knockhill, for a
round of the Scottish Championship. Driving the Ray
03 in practise she recorded her quickest ever lap
of the circuit recording joint fastest time. Things
were looking good. Unfortunately, come the race,
she was unable to equal the time, due to a bad set
of tyres, which they only discovered after the
event, but a 4th and 6th place still represented a
good result. At Oulton things got a lot better
where Sarah recorded two second place finishes in
the Scholarship class, together with a fastest lap
in the second race put her into the lead of the
championship. Sarah was a little disappointed as an
off whilst trying to overtake, denied her an early
chance to stand on that top step. On the weekend of
May 13th/14th, the UK series returns to Knockhill,
where Sarah will be looking to take two more podium
places to retain her scholarship lead.
Season off to flying start (4/2/05)
For the five members whose season started at the
Donnington Formula 3 meeting on April 2nd, the
adrenaline rush started slightly early when they
were featured on Anglia Television on Friday the
1st April. Anglias sports reporter Linda
OBrien received a tip off that three ladies
from her television area were kicking off their
motorsports season at Donnington Park. After a
little quick research she featured all five girls,
focusing on their BWRDC membership. Sarah Playfair
started off her assault on the UK Formula Ford
Championship.
