Personal: Pamela Vaters would like to be known as the "Shirley Muldowney of monster truck racing." Pamela is the first and only female competing in the Penda Point Series and her sights are high. She finished 5th in 1995. When asked how she got started as a monster truck driver, Pamela said, "My husband, Mike, got into racing first. The new truck we were building was supposed to be for him, but I really wanted to race, so it became mine. He waited eight years for that truck."

Pamela now races against the best. "The cheering of the fans, the great feeling of winning, and the tough competition are what I enjoy the most. I think more women will be racing in the future, and I hope I can be a model for them. It's really competitive, but I like the pressure."
