Lindsey Wood Invited
to Ashley Force's NHRA Top Alcohol Spot
Lindsey Wood is moving up once again on the racing
circuit. The 22-year-old Floridian is taking Ashley
Forces spot in Top Alcohol dragster with
Darien & Meadows Racing.
Courtney Force is turning pro this season and
driving a Funny Car for John Force Racing. Wood is
moving from NHRA Super Comp Dragster. Wood started
racing junior dragster in 1995 and won her first
national event in 2005 at Gainesville.
Weve been talking about it for a
while, said Wood. Darien & Meadows
Racing came over and let me know Ashley was moving
up and asked me if I wanted to join the team. In
fact, John Force was one of the drivers that signed
off on my top alcohol license. Im really
excited about the change.
Wood did really well at a test session in Las
Vegas. She ran 5.47 seconds at 237 mph in one run
and 5.37 at 266 mph in another quarter mile run.
Ive only had five runs so far in the
A-Fuel car, she said. I had to get the
feel of the clutch down.
Woods first race will be in February at
Florida.
K&N Sponsored Racer Lindsey Wood
A determined Lindsey Wood was a powerful force once
again on the track in her K&N Engineering
backed Undercover Dragster. The twenty-three year
old added another mark on her impressive racing
resume with a Super Comp victory at the NHRA Lucas
Oil Drag Racing Series event at No Problem Raceway
in Belle Rose, Louisiana.
This was Woods second consecutive win at
the Louisiana track. She captured the event title
last season in Top Alcohol Dragster. All in all,
Woods latest win marked her ninth consecutive
win at Bell Rose between the two classes.
Wood started the day by knocking off recent
national event winner Bart Nelson in the opening
round of racing. From there she eliminated former
Jegs All Stars competitor Doug Miller in
round two. Then, she ended the day by getting the
better of two former world champions, K&N
sponsored Britt Cummings in the semi-final round
and then Tommy Costales in the final.
Its really great to get a win in
Super Comp again, said Wood. The last
year has been hectic, but right now Im really
content to compete in the sportsman ranks and race
with my family..
